To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 7th March, the children and staff of Oulton First School in Stone dressed up as their favourite character from a story.

As they have been working on the author and illustrator Quentin Blake (who’s most famous works include The Fantastic Mr Fox, Matilda ,The Twits to name but a few) everyone tried to pick someone from any of his books or poems’. To start the day the Head Teacher Miss Jeanette Taylor who was dressed as “Angelica Spocket’s and her amazing pockets” acted out the poem for the children in assembly.

All the staff and pupils joined in and had a marvellous day concentrating on storytelling and the pupil’s favourite literature.
