Back home to roost in Stonefield Park

Stonefield Park's new aviary
An empty nest: Stonefield Park’s new aviary awaits its new occupants

Tweet this: Stonefield Park’s new aviary now is ready for its occupants. Around 30 budgies, finches and cockatiels will be making their homes there any day now. Stonefield Park has had an aviary since 1988 and when it was due for renewal last year, almost everyone who replied to Stafford Borough Council’s consultation said they would like to keep one.

The new £15,000 structure will provide 50 per cent more space – 8.5m by 7m and has been constructed using timber, brick and galvanised mesh in keeping with the surrounding area. The refurbishment also includes an additional path to make accessing the aviary easier.
