Two new drama classes aimed at preparing young actors for their LAMDA exams have been added to the Saturday schedule at Stone’s Rooftop Studios.
The hour-long classes will take place from 10am – 11am for children aged 6 to 11 years, and from 4pm – 5pm for ages 12 to 18; fitting in around the studio’s regular PSSA (Pop School & Stage Academy) sessions.
LAMDA exams lead to nationally recognised qualifications, with passes at Level 3 offering points that can be added to students’ UCAS forms to bolster applications to institutions of higher education. Rooftop Studios’ LAMDA exam classes are aimed at helping students prepare for the examination process; developing skills and honing performance with the help of tutors – and professionally trained actors in their own right – Nick Earnshaw and Kit Henson. The studio has an exemplary track record in LAMDA examination success, as Principal Elaine Bird, a qualified licentiate of LAMDA, explains: “We are delighted that in 2012 we once again achieved a 100% pass rate for our LAMDA Drama students.”
Youngsters interested in taking part can attend a free trial session – to discuss please call Elaine on 01785 761233. For more information visit www.rooftopstudios.co.uk
