It is hoped to have over 80 different real ales at this year’s Stafford Beer Festival and more than 50 of them will be new to the Festival.
The team working on the Festival’s beer order have already selected more than 70 beers. They hope to include the Beers of the Festival from the last three festivals, Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild, Bathams Best and Beartown Peach Melbear. Other old favourites should include Thornbridge Jaipur, Oakham Citra and Purple Moose Dark Side of the Moose. Some of the breweries and beers new to the festival include Conwy Riptide, Great Oakly Welland Valley Mild and Fownes Storyteller.
About two thirds of the beers selected are “Locales”, beers brewed within 30 miles of the branch area. Although the beers have been ordered there is no guarantee that they will arrive on the day, and the beer list may change at short notice.
The 6th Stafford Beer Festival is being held at the Blessed William Howard School and will take place from 1st to 3rd August. It is organised by the Heart of Staffordshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.
