Sport on both trout lakes has been fantastic this week with every angler catching fish and plenty of them. Regular angler Tony Sunderland had a superb day catching 15 rainbows up to 8lb, Tony fished a floating line and small Nymph’s, Buzzers and Damsels over on the Railway pool to tempt the fish. Some of the best fish i have ever seen are coming out at the moment, fully fined bars of silver. Local angler Paul Wade had the biggest of the 2 doubles which came out of the lakes, A fine rainbow weighing 10lb 1oz was part of a 10 fish haul taken on a CDC, Pauls fish has to be one of the best ever doubles i have seen with full fins and taken off the top, Well done mate top angling
A wide variety of flies have been working from small light nymph’s fished static to small dark lures pulled on Floating or a sink tip line. Sport will be great now with the water being fine and regular stockings going in and the fish feeding hard off the top every day. Hawthornes are getting blown on the water more every day so the fish will continue to rise.
