Stars of the West End musical Grease will spearhead the search for young actors, including boys, to play principal roles a forthcoming production of the musical at the Mitchell Arts Centre in Stoke.
Regular TV actor Ian Kelsey and his wife Mia, who met while appearing in a touring production of the hit musical – Ian played Danny and Mia took the roles of both Rizzo and Frenchy – will lead a panel of judges at an open audition in Stone on Sunday, 2nd June. They will be searching for talented youngsters to fill main roles in a production of the musical by the Stone branch of London-based performing arts school PSSA (Pop School & Stage Academy) later this year.
Ian, who is currently appearing in BBC1’s Doctors, is a patron of PSSA and Mia founded the school with sister Laura; so they are both keen to help support auditions for the Stone branch’s big show. With rehearsals set to start before the summer holidays and continue through autumn until the show runs at Hanley’s Mitchell Arts Centre in November, now is the time for youngsters keen to get involved to audition.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, 2nd June at Rooftop Studios above Stone’s High Street Arcade – to register your interest please call Elaine Bird on 01785 761233 or email email@example.com Friday, 31st May 2013.
