The Acoustic Festival of Britain gets underway in a week at Uttoxeter racecourse. From Friday 31 and 1-2 June.

Thanks to the organisers of the festival The Stone Gazette have 2 prizes of 4 tickets to Friday and 4 tickets to Sunday to give away!

All you have to do is go to our Facebook page (click on Facebook logo at top of page) and like the post about the festival and share it

The event falls in the half term week for the first time and the event organisers have gone that extra bit to cater for the youngsters by adding a Big Top marquee. This will host a variety of entertainment for the younger audiences, plus house the many morris and tribal dance teams. The festival features many varied musicians including the Hollies, Proclaimers and The Wonder Stuff in an un-plugged format in and around several marquees, solar powered domes and a magnificent outdoor arena stage. A late addition of the new blues sensation across both sides of the Atlantic, Blues Boy Dan , is a feather in the organisers cap as he is playing to sold out audiences in Manchester and London Apollo later in the summer as well as Glastonbury. The festival sees the last appearance from comic genius Phil Cool, as he retires later this month. The rubber faced  mimic appeared in his own series for over ten years on our Saturday night TV screens.

The comedy continues throughout the weekend with the weird and wonderful Chris Cross a contortionist and Walkabout Close-up Magic Performer and  this year performed at HRH Prince Harry’s Xmas Party, for The Prince of Bahrain at the Bahrain International Formula One, a regular amongst the A list personalities as their choice of entertainment. ( A pic with Prince Charles attached ). He will be one of scores of  artists who will also take to the Uttoxeter market square on Friday and Saturday on a free stage during the day time. Locals can get tickets from the musicians centre on Bridge street in Uttoxeter, or contact www.acousticfestival.co.uk from £35 and children are only £1.
