Bring your blanket… the picnic awaits at the Great British Food Festival!

On Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June,  the historic hall of Shugborough takes it’s turn to host  the popular Great British Food Festival. Along with wonderful array of food and drink we’re also throwing a great big, traditional, British summer party – games and activities for the kids, a balloon race,  bake-offs,  and of course live music.

The Great British Food Festival has attracted over 100 producers showcasing the best in local, seasonal and speciality food and drink. Taste, enjoy and buy.  With Great Britain’s mix of cultures and cuisines we thought it would be a shame to overlook some more exotic elements – so you can try Thai pies, Kangaroo burgers, or Zebra as well as pulled pork, brisket and local sausages, for those with more traditional tastes!

On top of the local and independent food stalls, there are lots of activities in which to get involved.  Why not help judge the Great British Cake Off (or a least have a taste of the entries!), or take on the Men V’s Food challenges. An artisan cheese talk? A wine tasting? Or pop into the chef demo tent to watch a top chef cooking on stage. Bring a picnic blanket and sit out for the perfect recipe for a fun, foodie day out for the whole family.

Admission on the day is £6 (under 12’s free) and thegates are open each day from 10.30am-5.30pm. More info at  www.greatbritishfoodfestival.com
