Tight lines at Seighford – News from Seighford Lakes

80 yr old John Whitehurst From Stoke on Trent with a fine bag of Rainbow trout.

Excellent fishing continued this week with not one person blanking. The fish have continued to feed high up in the water on the more naturals. It hasn’t taken long for the fresh stockies to settle down and switch on to the natural fly life that the lakes are so rich with.

Local fishing Club S.H.A.G had a day at Seighford on Friday, everybody caught at least 1 fish but top rod on the day goes to Paul Bednall who landed 10 fish up to around 6/7lb all on small dries and Buzzers. Paul caught off both pools all on a floating line.

Picture above shows John Whitehurst who is turning 80 this year with a selection of the fish he caught at the lakes last week. John was brought a voucher as a birthday present for a day’s fishing and took full advantage of it, landing these cracking fish.

Regular lad Luke Stanley from Stafford had the best fish this week weighing in at 12lb 8oz. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get any pictures as the fish was quickly weighed then returned. Luke caught his new personal Best Rainbow Trout out of the Swan Neck Pool on a Buzzer under a site indicator.
