Stone PSSA’s ‘Pink Ladies’ are on the hunt for T-Birds to star alongside them in the academy’s                                  forthcoming production of ‘Grease’

The Pop School and Stage Academy (PSSA) Youth Theatre Group is holding auditions throughout July & August for talented, enthusiastic children and knock-out young adults from 8 to 18 yrs to star in Grease, the Musical, so wannabe Sandys, Dannys, Rizzos and Frenchies keen to be part of a theatre group had better shape up…

Stars of tomorrow wanting to try out for a speaking or singing role should advise PSSA in advance, and will be asked to prepare something straight forward for the audition. An eight-16 bar dance routine will be taught at the audition and applicants are also welcome to demonstrate other skills to give the panel a better idea of their personality; this could include anything from telling a joke, baton-twirling, gymnastics or guitar playing. No experience is necessary and auditions are always informal and fun, ensuring no one feels intimidated.

A series of rehearsals follow before the curtain goes up on Grease, the Musical at The Mitchell Arts Centre in February 2014. BAM agency will also be attending the show, talent spotting for their agency which has already seen children from the PSSA cast in roles in West Ends ‘Thriller’ and ‘Leaves to Remain’ the movie.   PSSA <>  is a Stone based youth theatre group run by Elaine Bird with her glittering, talented team of professionals, Kit Henson, Rob Lewis and Nick Earnshaw . Drawing on their impressive collective experience in the performing arts, they train children and young adults of all abilities, whether they show a natural aptitude for entertainment and instinctive leaning towards the limelight or whether they need gently drawing out of their shell.

Beyond sheer fun, benefits to students include the development of imagination, building self-confidence and self-awareness in a safe, controlled environment. They will make friends, experience making something happen as a Company and ultimately, if they find that the swish of the curtain and rapturous applause is for them, they may even embark on a dazzling stage and screen career, becoming the next Newton-John…   Auditions will be held at The Rooftop Studios on various dates throughout July and August, please enquire for further Details.
