On 26th June 2013 the Stone Lions held their annual President’s handover at the Oak Tree Farm tea rooms. This is the third year that the Lions have enjoyed these facilities and many thanks go to David Moreton for allowing the club to use them once again. An excellent evening was enjoyed by all, fine food provided by the members and beautiful   sunshine to enjoy the surroundings.

The handover saw past president Lion Mark Green passing over the chain of office to Lion Glenys Sanders, Glenys will be serving her second term as president and is well known in the local community for her sterling work with the youngsters in the area, both with the annual peace poster competition and the “young ambassadors”

This will be quite a year for Stone Lions as Lion Dave Handley will be the first member of the club to serve as District Governor, a post where he will be responsible for over sixty clubs, both he and his wife Lion Chris are looking forward to the challenge.  Members wished Lion Glenys all the best for a successful year serving the local community and look forward to your their support, without which the Club would be unable to survive.
