Katharine House Hospice is starting the celebrations for its 25th anniversary early with the launch of its “Silver Celebration” scratch card. The scratch cards will see one local supporter win £1,000 and features a host of other cash prizes.

The cards which are priced at £1 each, commemorate the start of Katharine House as a “Hospice at Home” in 1989 – since then the Hospice has grown to provide a range of free care services for local people with life limiting illnesses and their families. A top prize of £1000 is joined by a myriad of other instant wins down to £1.

Colin Martindale Hospice Lottery Manager said:

“scratch cards are a new way for us to help fund the vital care at the hospice whilst giving something back to our supporters. 2014 will really be a silver celebration for the hospice as we reach our 25th anniversary and we wanted to start it off early with the launch of the scratch card”.

The scratch cards which will support the Hospice’s existing weekly lottery are being kindly sponsored by the Lewis Partnership, which means the Hospice can maximise the funds going to care.
Colin said:

“Managing partner, Chris Lewis has been a personal supporter of the Hospice for many years. The Lewis Partnership is also a member of our “Ten Local Companies” – a unique group of local businesses dedicated to supporting the work of Katharine House Hospice. The Lewis Partnership have been great supporters of Katharine House for several years and have helped us to raise thousands of pounds for the care of local people”

The scratch cards will be on sale from mid-September in all Katharine house Hospice shops and venues which are part of the Lewis Partnership chain – the Swan in Stafford, Moat House Acton Trussell and the Dog and Doublet in Sandon.
Katharine House Hospice provides free care and support for adults and their families across Mid-Staffordshire coping with a progressive illness. It relies upon the generosity of the local community to help generate 75% of funds needed to run its range of vital services.
