On Saturday 20th of July retired farmer and Eccleshall resident Ernest Buckless, known to all as Roger, celebrated his 80th birthday with family from home and abroad.
The Kings Arms in Eccleshall was the venue for his family gathering where a buffet lunch was laid on by the family. Rogers children, grandchildren and great grandchildren travelled from Anglesey, Stone and North Wales to be with him for the day of celebrations. Other family members arrived from the Potteries but travelling from even further away was sister in Law Patricia Hughes who was visiting her home area all the way from her home in Australia.
Roger was lucky enough to have two birthday cakes and managed to blow out all the candles. Before his retirement Roger farmed at Gayton before retiring to his Stone Road, Eccleshall bungalow. The photograph shows Roger and his family outside the Kings Arms
