The Eccleshall Great War Project

Eccleshall_War_memorial-cop

To commemorate the centenary of the Great War (1914-1918) in respect to the Fallen of Eccleshall Parish as remembered on the War Memorial in the churchyard of Holy Trinity Church, this project aims to create a more detailed and lasting epitaph for our and future generations.

The aim is to research all 46 names listed for:

• Family history

• Photographs

• Date and place of death

• Location of internment or commemoration

The research involved is quite challenging and is not restricted to any one person or group. Any member or group of the community of whatever age is not only invited, but greatly encouraged to participate to make the project a success.

A web site has been created dedicated to this project and is addressable from the Eccleshall Guide web site (www.eccleshallguide.com). For anyone without Internet access but has any information about any of the 46 names or their families, however trivial, please contact the co-ordinators: Dennis Joyner (01785) 851662 (answerphone enabled) and  John Baldry (01785) 850004
