Tittensor celebrated the 70th Village Produce Guild Show on 7th September 2013. Mr Ashley Bassett, of the Bassett Group who are celebrating 116 years in business this year, opened the show before residents and others poured into the hall to view the entries, including Flower Arranging, Flowers and Vegetables, Domestic, Art and Handicraft and Children’s and School Section.
About 140 people (including members) attended and all were offered a complimentary glass of wine and a piece of the delicious cake made by Mrs. Anthea Lavene of Tittensor.
Some of the competitors were Graham Birt, Sara Llewyllen, John Russell, Pat Boulton, Carol Green, Jean Webb, Craig Tilsley and many others, in fact 46 exhibitors and 190 entries in total. There were also stalls including, Tombola, Raffle, Bottle Stall, Buried Treasure, Plant Stall, Cakes and Preserves.
Out of the 20 cup winners the youngest Gracie Huddlestone (aged 5) won 2 trophies, Michael Llewyllen aged 10 won 1 cup, Ruby Johnstone aged 7 won 1 cup and one of the founder members Frank Smith won 1 cup. Perfect weather helped to make the day a great success.
