TV presenter, spice expert, chef and culinary adventurer, Emma Grazette, will be at the 2nd Annual Chilli Festival at the Dorothy Clive Garden on Sunday 29th September 2013. Emma will be giving two chilli related talks and demonstrations, as well as judging the ‘True Blue Bay Best Chilli Sauce Contest’ at the 2nd Annual Chilli Festival. Emma will also be available to sign copies of her book ‘Spice Trip’.
Emma’s talks will be on the ‘History of Chillies’ in which she will be looking at the history as well as the health and nutritional benefits of the chilli, and also ‘Spices and their exciting world of flavour’ in which Emma will be giving a talk on how the spices can be made accessible to everyone through creative and vibrant recipes. ‘The History of Chillies’ will take place at 12noon and ‘Spices and their exciting world of flavour’ will take place at 2.00pm both in the Bryan Mayer Pavilion.

‘The True Blue Bay Best Chilli Sauce Contest’ is open to both amateurs and professionals, aged 18 and above; Emma Grazette will be looking for the sauce with the best flavour, texture and blend. The creator of the ‘True Blue Bay Best Chilli Sauce’ will win a fantastic luxury 7 night bed and breakfast stay for two in the boutique ‘True Blue Bay Hotel’ on the Caribbean spice island of Grenada*, in the Caribbean.

The runner up will also receive the prize of five handmade, organic Grenadian chocolate bars sponsored by the Grenada Tourist Board and made by the Grenada Chocolate Company.

The sauce must be declared by a representative on the day of the 2nd Annual Chilli Festival by 12.30pm. The 2nd Annual Chilli Festival is a special fundraising event will include various food and chilli related activities such as a talk by resident gardener and chilli enthusiast Zedenk Valkoun-Walker, a fire breathing display, salsa music, salsa dancing, yoga, henna decoration, chilli crafts and colouring for children and a chilli market selling plants, seeds, oils, sauces, chutneys and jams.
Admission to this special fundraising event will be £3.50 per adult, free for children between 0-4 and £2.00 for children over 4 and under 18 years and. Members are the Dorothy Clive Garden are admitted for free. The event will start at 11am to 5.00pm, however, the garden will be open from 10.00am to 5.30pm on the day and is open seven days a week until Sunday 30th September 2013. The garden will then be open every weekend in October from 10am to 4pm.
