Katharine House Fund Raising Group’s Harvey Andrews “Glad to be Grey” Concert Saturday October 5th 2013 held at Eccleshall Community Centre
It was a sellout concert where over 120 enthusiastic supporters were entertained handsomely by Harvey Andrews. Some of his fans had travelled from as far away as London and Reading! He sang his own compositions and told funny stories all of which appealed to baby boomers; in particular those who remembered ice on the inside of bedroom windows and squares of newspaper neatly cut up with pinking shears for use as toilet paper.
Over £1700 was raised from the sale of tickets, bar takings and a lovely raffle. County Councillor Frank Chapman made a generous donation from his Community Fund which was a great help with the costs of staging the event. Other donations were received from friends of the group.
Thanks go to the fund raising group for their help and dedication, Lodey’s supermarkets for the supply of the wine and free hire of glasses, staff at Katharine House Shop, Eccleshall Pharmacy and News Express for acting as ticket agents and Walton Hall School for the loan of sound equipment.
The Fund Raising Group wishes to thank everyone for their continuing support in all its activities.
