Meaford Day Nursery have received an award for their Restoration Project, being the best Newcomer!
Children and Staff of Meaford Day Nursery worked very hard to replace their garden after the canal flooded and damaged the existing nursery grounds. The children participated in planting flowers and making their own flower patches. Once the front garden was completed, the children and staff have created a vegetable garden out of some waste land at the back of the nursery. This has flourished and has provided them with many vegetables to use for their nursery meals. The children enjoy gardening in the vegetable patch and provides them with countless learning opportunities. This year the children have grown potatoes, strawberries, cabbages, sprouts and carrots. Parents have also been getting involved in the development of the nursery, particularly with the vegetable patch. The Nursery also came second in the Stone in Bloom competition.
