Residents and visitors will be licking their lips when a new mouth-watering festival comes to Stafford later this year. And organisers are on the lookout for more businesses to take part in the first ever Cheese and Ale Festival in Stafford.
It is a joint initiative by Stafford Borough Council and the Town Centre Partnership (TCP) and will include the chance to taste a wide range of cheese and ales, along with demonstrations.
The event in May will be held in two large marquees in the town’s Market Square. One marquee will have a number of stalls where businesses can sell their products. The other will be used to hold a series of talks and demonstrations.
The festival is sponsored by Taste of Staffordshire and is expected to be a great opportunity for producers and breweries to show off their products in the heart of Stafford. If successful organisers hope it will become a permanent fixture on the town’s event’s calendar.
Councillor Frances Beatty, cabinet member for planning and regeneration at the borough council said “It’s an opportunity for a range of local cheese-related producers to take part and could include farmers, wine merchants and dairies.
The Cheese and Ale Festival takes place on Saturday 17th May and any business who would like to be a part of the day should contact Lisa Clemson firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01785 619470.
