Stone’s Rooftop Studios recently hosted a series of ballet events to raise funds for one of its little ballerinas, 5 year old Phoebe Moon, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia before Christmas. Both pupils at the school and those attending a special festive ballet party had the chance to dress up and dance with everyone’s favourite ballet mouse, Angelina Ballerina, before enjoying cakes and other refreshments donated by parents to sell to raise funds.
The events helped to raise a total of over £320, which has been donated to Birmingham Children’s Hospital at the request of Phoebe’s family. Principal at Rooftop Studios, Elaine Bird, says:
“We were heartbroken when we heard of Phoebe’s diagnosis and she’s been terribly missed in class. We wanted to show our support by raising funds to help toward the treatment of Phoebe and other sick children, and we’ve been bowled over by the enthusiasm of everyone who helped make the events a success – from those who joined in a class to parents who donated cakes and raffle prizes. We’re now keeping everything crossed for Phoebe as she continues her treatment and hope to see her back in ballet class with her friends in the very near future.”
