Spring is here and gardeners are on the look out for something new to fill their gardens with colour and fragrance throughout the season. Plant Hunters’ Fairs are a brilliant place to get inspired by truly beautiful gardens and to pick top quality plants from specialist growers at the same time, all for a great value low entry price.
The season kicks off at The National Memorial Arboretum on Saturday 5th April moving to Cholmondeley Castle on Sunday 13th April. The line-up of top nurseries includes plants of all types from trees to alpines and everything in between. There will be spring flowers as well as plants to light up your garden with colour late in the season.
On Easter Sunday and Monday Plant Hunters’ Fairs return to the beautiful and intimate 12 acre Dorothy Clive garden, an event now firmly established as a “must” in gardeners’ diaries. Entry to the garden and fair is just £3.00 for this event only. The gardens as always will be putting on their spring display of bulbs, rhododendrons and azaleas. Garden lovers inspired by the display will find a great range of plant treats at the fair.
On Saturday 26th April Plant Hunters’ Fairs return to Sugnall Walled Garden near Eccleshall for a brilliant event giving all garden lovers a chance to explore this working 18th Century kitchen garden in spring. Visitors to the plant fair and garden can also roam the fragrant bluebell woods all for the special entry price of just £1.00 For this event we are really pleased to welcome Bob Brown’s renowned specialist nursery Cotswold Garden Flowers and also Roseland House will be travelling all the way from Cornwall with a great range of climbers including rambling roses and plants from their National Collection of Clematis.
Early May Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday sees the popular Plant Hunters’ Fair return to Weston Park near Shifnal. The plant fair is the centre piece of what is a great day out for every garden lover. There are the beautiful gardens, woodland walks and parkland to explore. At this time of year the bluebells should be at their best along with early flowering shrubs and trees. There is also a great adventure playground for children. For this special event, Weston Park is offering a really great value entrance price of just £2.50 for the fair, gardens and parkland.
