The latest addition to the Guide Dogs’ team has recently qualified as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, after three years of studying and hard work. Rachel Baker is now building up her own team of supporters so that she can train our wonderful dogs in Staffordshire.
As Rachel lives near Eccleshall, she needs people who can offer a temporary home to her dogs in training for 10-12 weeks. She is looking for people who:
Can offer bed and board (food provided) to a house trained dog
Have a safe, secure, enclosed garden or yard
Live in Eccleshall
Are based at home during the day
Will follow our dog care guidelines to fit in with the dog’s training schedule
Full training is provided and you will have the ongoing support of Guide Dogs staff and volunteers in your area. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to a service that changes the lives of blind and partially sighted people. A local guide dog owner, Karl says
“Guide Dogs says it is life-changing; I say life-saving”.
Guide Dogs wants a society in which blind and partially-sighted people enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
