In recognition of celebrating 40 years of caring for people in North Staffordshire the Douglas Macmillan Hospice is delighted to announce that they will be receiving a Royal Visit from HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO.
The visit will take place on Wednesday 14th May 2014 and it is anticipated to last for 1 hour During the visit , His Royal Highness will meet local Civic Dignitaries, Hospice Trustees, Senior Management of the Hospice ,staff and volunteers representing every department within the Hospice and patients and their families.
He will make a tour of the Hospice , visiting the In Patient Unit, the Community Lodges and the Day Therapy Unit .

“We are delighted and honoured to be receiving a Royal Visit . It is a very fitting reward to all those members of staff and volunteers who have worked at the Hospice over the 40 years we have been caring for people in North Staffordshire Today , the services we now offer to over 2,700 patients and their immediate families is much improved and advanced since we opened our doors in 1973, when we first admitted patients. I am pleased that we will be able to show and explain to His Royal Highness, the facilities and expertise we have here today to care for people suffering from a life limiting illness “
