Weekly update from Seighford Lakes

Chris Ector with his 15lb 1oz Rainbow Trout

 Week ending 1/4/2014

It has been another top week for sport down here at Seighford Lakes. With plenty of fish coming off both pools daily the action has never been so good. There are a lot of fish very high up in the water so a floating line is all you need. With the weather warming up there are hatches taking place daily, so the fish have switched on to feeding on the naturals. Small Buzzer patterns will work along with Dries, Hoppers, CDC’s and small daddies are ideal.

The Swan Neck Pool has thrown up some really big fish this week. Doing 5 Doubles. The biggest was caught Sunday by Kevin Faulkner weighing in at 17lb 15oz, just two ounces off the fishery record and smashing his old PB to bits. Unfortunately i didn’t manage to get a picture of it as i forgot the camera when i ran up to weigh it. The fish was safely returned to fight another day.

Chris Ector was top rod this week landing 25 fish on Saturday and 10 Fish on Sunday including a 15lb 1oz Rainbow Trout (pictured). Chris took fish over both lakes using a floating line and an Olive Zonker. Top angling mate.

Rod average for this week has sat at around 8 fish every day, sometimes even rising to 13.7 fish per rod!! 15 year old Ben Pritchard had his best ever day on the Swan Neck Pool landing 15 fish fishing Buzzers static under neath an indicator. Ben landed fish up to 7lb near Jock’s Tree.
