Adam is 8 years old and in Year 3 at Springfield’s First School in Yarnfield. He started wanting to play football at the age of 6 when the family moved to Yarnfield, so his dad (Darren) started taking him to Little Dots in Yarnfield
He shone, and soon slotted into the under 9’s to train and even there he was unstoppable as a striker.
Adam then went on to play for Stone Dominoes Blacks Under 8’s, scoring goals galore and attracting scouts from Crewe, Everton, Port Vale, Man Utd – to name but a few, but it was decided that it was best for Adam to stay local so he was signed up to the Stanley Matthews academy.
He was there for only 12 weeks when the coaches recommended went on to the Stoke Elite Academy for an assessment, and was offered a 6 week trial in October and he just continued to develop – thanks to both his commitment and the input of coaches Jake, Louie, Chris, Ash and Paul.
In February this year, Adam was given a chance to become part of next season’s under 9’s Stoke City team and Adam and his team mates went to their signing day 29th April and met with the first team and Manager Mark Hughes followed by training, and a tour of the stadium.
Adams parents would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have believed in Adam and he will, of course, be only too delighted to repay them with a career in the sport in which he is already a winner – potential is really only ever properly fulfilled when it’s spotted early on – and in Adam’s case, he’s already living up to everyone’s expectations.
