Calling all ABBA fans – an evening of ABBA music and fun including Oulton’s famous Barbeque at Oulton Village Hall on Saturday 5th July – doors open at 6.30 pm for 7.00 pm start. Tickets, in advance please, are available from Debbie Edwards, 5 Vicars Close, Oulton, phone 07939 900935 – Price includes BBQ Meal – £15.00 per person and £5.00 for children under 12, but no unaccompanied children admitted. Fancy dress very welcome but not obligatory and there will be a bar.
The beautiful grounds of Oulton Abbey, entrance on Church Lane, are again the venue for Oulton’s Annual Fete on the afternoon of Saturday 12th July opening at 1pm. This event always attracts large crowds and there will be plenty of activities and games, plus usual tombolas, games, raffle, dog show, welly wanging, face painting and a very serious tug-of-war competition. Many stalls including white elephant, plants, food and cakes available plus a barbeque and a bar, teas with home made cakes, so come with a good appetite! The new extension at Oulton Village Hall, providing another meeting/activity room, has proved to be very popular and is much admired. Proceeds from the Festival events will go towards updating the kitchen and completing the refurbishment of the Hall.
