The winners of Eccleshall Pre School’s Totally Locally egg hunt challenge have been revealed.
Mary Hirst, age 6, was the lucky winner picked at random from 38 correct entries. She was presented with a prize hamper containing two Easter eggs and activities such as colouring your own bird house, an Easter activity book, Easter chick painting and plenty of colouring!
Second and third prize winners Joziah Johnson (5) and Jacob Silvester (3) also won an Easter egg each.
This year’s Eggs-troadinary egg hunt saw Eccleshall Pre School team up with a range of local retailers to hide eggs in a host of unusual places along the high street, before posting their competition entries in a specially decorated Easter post box at Eccleshall library. Entry forms were sold at Little Monsters and local businesses who took part in the egg hunt were Guys and Dolls, Lex & Co, WM Perry, the pharmacy, Sean Hirst, iTech, La Maison, Malcolm Gray opticians, and Mr Simms sweet shop.
Sally Rowen, manager of Eccleshall Pre School said: “We are grateful to everyone that took part as it helps raise funds for the pre-school whilst getting to know the local shops more and having fun at the same time.“
She adds: “It was lovely to see the village getting involved, regardless of whether they have children with us or not. It gave us all a real sense of community. We will have to continue to think of unique egg hiding places for next year!”
