Unraveling-Watercolour_03Oulton Watercolour Society are holding their annual exhibition on Saturday June 7th at Oulton Village Hall, entrance is free and the doors will open at 10am and will close at 6pm.

Refreshments and a Raffle (Hamper) will be organized both modestly priced.

Club members will be giving demonstrations and on hand to answer any questions relating to the paintings and painting classes. It also gives  the opportunity to promote the club as they are always on the lookout for new members, whether experienced or complete novices.

All the pictures exhibited on the day are for sale and have all been painted by the society members with the majority being local.

Oulton Watercolour Society are very fortunate to have the tutoring services of their president Doris Brown S.W.A. (Society of Woman Artists) who founded the club in 1967. Her work has been exhibited by the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters and the British Watercolour Society in London; this in itself is no mean feat.

The object of the exhibition is to not only showcase their work but to enable them to raise funds to cover the rising costs of hiring Oulton Village Hall for the weekly classes along with the annual exhibition, but most of all to encourage future artists.
