The hunt will soon be on for Staffordshire mums in business who excel in their role and deserved to be honoured for their achievements.
Organisers of the annual Bizmums Conference and Awards Ceremony have revealed furniture giant Alan Ward as the main sponsor for the 2014 event, which is due to take place on October 4 at Yarnfield Park Conference Centre in Stone.

The awards honour mums in all areas of business with categories including Direct Selling Mum, Health and Beauty Mum, Creative Mum, Charity Mum and many more.
Jenny Osborne, of Henshalls Insurance, scooped the Exceptional Service award in 2013 and was then revealed as the overall winner.
She said:

“I was thrilled and very much overwhelmed to win one award but to go on to win the overall award too was amazing. I work hard and have had to face some health issues along the way but for me my job is about satisfying the clients and ensuring they get the best service and advice. It was wonderful to be recognised for that and I wish every one every success in entering this year’s awards.”

Since last year’s conference the Bizmums organisation, founded by Michelle Childs, of Ellesmere, has grown across the country and hundreds of women are expected to flock to Stone for the 2014 event.
Nominations for the awards will open on June 1st.
Michelle said:

“This year’s conference is set to be much bigger than last year as the Bizmums groups have sprung up across the Midlands. We are hugely grateful to Alan Ward, which has stores in Shrewsbury, Chester, Winsford and Newcastle-Under-Lyme, for agreeing to be our main sponsor and we are already looking forward to what will be a fantastic event in October.”

The Bizmums conference features speakers to help mums in business learn more about what they can do to improve and grow as well as how to balance work and a busy home life.

“Bizmums was born because I wanted to provide mums in business with a group where they could network and learn while having the kids in tow,”

added Michelle.

“We meet in child-friendly places so that can happen but mums without children are more than welcome. And you don’t have to be a member of Bizmums to be nominated for an award, they are open to everyone. We always have a lot of support from local businesses with sponsorship and assistance and we want to make sure those ladies in business that are eligible put themselves forward!”

Kathy Lesser, marketing manager at Alan Ward said:

“We saw the success of last year’s event and wanted to be a part of that. We are a family friendly store with our own cafe which is particularly popular with parents and also working parents too as the child oftens delves into a slice of cake whilst some emails are checked or phone calls made. Young parents are a large part of our customer base whether that is to furnish a kid’s bedroom or to ensure their home is on-trend but practical. We wish everybody who enters the best of luck and we look forward to meeting everyone on the day, if not before in one of our stores.”

Midlands businesses J&PR Ltd, Rebekah Harriman, Be Unique Beauty and Training Academy, Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant and Visit from the Stork have already signed up to be award sponsors.
There are still sponsorship opportunities available and anyone wishing to support the event can contact Michelle on
