Stone Master Marathoners’ Flying Fox Marathon

FF-start-425 May 2014 start time: 09:30

A break in the poor bank holiday weather provided ideal running conditions for the Flying Fox Marathon on Sunday. 146 seasoned marathon runners took the hilly rural course in their stride to complete in this one-off event. Organised to commemorate the last Flying Fox Marathon, which was staged in Stone 20 years ago, Race Director Bernie Priekulis said ‘I was blown away by the response and enthusiasm for this race. The atmosphere before and after the event was wonderful; everyone was buzzing with enthusiasm. My thanks go to all runners, supporters and the residents along the route’.
