The Middle of Nowhere Music Festival, which will take place near Penkridge on 18th, 19th and 20th July 2014 is billed as ‘Staffordshire’s blues, rock and folk event for everyone’.
This year, headline acts include the UK’s best rhythm & blues band ‘Dr Feelgood’ – who enjoyed chart success with hits such as ‘Milk and Alcohol’ and ‘Down at the Doctors’ in the 1970s – will head up the main stage on Saturday night.
Local lad and banjo virtuoso Dan Walsh will take centre stage in the acoustic tent on Friday night, while on the main stage “southern fried blues rock n’ rollers” the Herbacious Borders will get the party started before Birmingham’s Broombusters bring their signature blend of Rhythm n Blues, Ska and Reggae. Upcoming duo the Mona Lisa Twins – who are winning critical acclaim for their 60s Beat-inspired original writing and sweet vocal harmonies – are another great addition to Saturday’s line-up; as are Xander and the Peace Pirates; on the rise on the international rock stage with their haunting riffs and genius melodies.
Other acts include Lo-fi, Rock n Soul & Rockabilly band Holly Vee & the Hubkaps, Blue Tuesday and Stafford natives Pelo and High House with support from a host of acoustic acts over the weekend.
In addition to great live music, this family-friendly festival offers a host of other activities. Circus workshops, a ‘Green Craft Field’ with holistic therapies and children’s craft activity area, fairground rides and the farm’s family fun farm attraction with its adventure playground, Maize Maze, friendly animals and pony rides – are sure to keep revellers busy.
