On a gloriously sunny Saturday 17th May, many dogs and their owners arrived to compete in a variety of competitions at the home of Lynn Bakker in Oulton, Stone .

The competitions included biggest dog, ugliest dog, fastest dog and “the-dog-the-judge-would-most- like-to-take-home”. All proceeds were for Guide Dogs For The Blind.

The day was shared with a car boot held in aid of Stone Age Concern, and all takings from the stalls and refreshments served all afternoon, went to Stone Age Concern.  The dog competitions raised £207, and for Age Concern £108 was collected.

Stone Town Mayor Cathie Collier and her consort (husband) Councillor Geoff Collier attended, bringing their dog Tess. The youngest owner was 8-year old Jamie, and
his dog Harvey went home with a winner’s rosette.

So far, this year, Lynn has already raised over £1093 for Age Concern, and she wishes to thank all those generous people who have helped her to achive this.  She intends to continue to support this charity to keep Age Concern working in Stone for at least another year.  For more details about forthcoming events, contact Lynn Bakker on 01785 813473.
