Nominations are now open for the annual Bizmums Awards, which honour mums in business across the region.
The awards recognise businesswomen in 10 different categories and nominations have already started pouring in after being officially opened on June 1.
The categories this year are Online Mum of the Year, Direct Selling Mum of the Year, Creative Mum of the Year, Health and Beauty Mum of the Year, Charity Mum of the Year, Networking Mum of the Year, Young Business Mum of the Year, New Business, Exceptional Service, and Outstanding Personal Achievement.
The winners will be announced at the Bizmums Conference and Awards Ceremony taking place at Yarnfield Park Conference Centre in Stone on October 4.
Bizmums offers support and inspiration to mums in business and host events in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Wrexham and Chester.
Mums can attend events, share what they do, meet other mums and learn valuable skills which they can take back and apply to their business.
In each location one event per month is held in a child-friendly location so mums can take their children along if they need to.
The first awards ceremony was held in Shropshire, the home of Bizmums founder Michelle Childs, in 2013.
“We received so many nominations in 2013 and met so many inspirational mums at the conference that we knew it would become an annual event. The awards are not only open to Bizmums members but to every mum, whatever age their children are, who deserve to be recognised. We are very excited to see the wonderful stories of mums in business and I am looking forward to meeting some new faces at the conference.”
The conference, sponsored by Alan Ward Furniture, features speakers to help delegates in their business journey as well as an expo of stalls featuring a variety of different businesses and an ‘Experts’ area where you can ask questions of local accountants, a bank, an insurance firm, solicitor and the local council.
The speakers for 2014 include Amanda Daniels of Koogar Marketing who will be talking about Social Media Marketing and Marie-Claire Carlisle, who will be running her Money Magnet Workshop.
Also taking to the stage will be top UK life coach Amanda Alexander who will be talking about self-belief, feeling the fear but going for it anyway.
Midlands businesses J&PR Ltd, Rebekah Harriman, Be Unique Beauty and Training Academy, Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant and Visit from the Stork have already signed up to be award sponsors.
There are still sponsorship opportunities available and anyone wishing to support the event can contact Michelle on email@example.com
