Motorists and residents in Great Bridgeford, Eccleshall and the surrounding areas are being advised that work to widen a junction on the A5013 (Eccleshall Road) is due to take place for a further four weeks. The work is part of Network Rail’s Stafford Area Improvements Programme, designed to provide improved performance, reliability and capacity on the busy West Coast main line.
The road junction provides access to a site compound and has to be widened to safely accommodate construction traffic which will access the site from Chebsey Lane. The junction widening has encountered a number of challenges since work started, many of which have involved buried services which could not have been assessed until temporary traffic lights were installed. The work on the junction is due to be completed by the weekend of 26/27 July.
