St Dominic’s Priory School in Stone organised a Fun Run on Friday 27th June in support of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Pupils, Staff and Parents ran a one mile circuit around the School grounds, Margaret Street and Station Road. Yellow and green was the fancy dress theme as it represents the colours of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. In true St. Dominic’s style participants embraced the theme as you can see from the photographs.
Family, friends and colleagues are also participating in the 7 mile Mini Moonlight Walk on the 12th July. Many runners ran in memory of their ex teacher and colleague Mr Kirkland who sadly passed away earlier this year. A team named ‘Mr Kirkland’s Pretty Women will be running to help raise funds for the Hospice in recognition and thanks for the care and support given to all patients and families in North Staffordshire who face life limiting illness.
We can’t confirm the grand total raised by St. Dominic’s Priory School’s Students, Alumni, Staff and Friends until all the sponsorship money has been received however, The Stone & Eccleshall Gazette will be informed in time for their next issue in September 2014.
