The Berryhill 10K, run on paths and tracks over the former Colliery which closed in 1961, gives runners a testing 3-lap hilly course. Warm conditions didn’t prevent Tipton runner Ben Gamble from turning in a useful time of 32:44, finishing well clear of Carl Moulton of Boalloy running club, second in a time of 34:40. First Lady was Newcastle AC’s Michelle Buckle in 41:44.
Stone Master Marathoners first finisher was Mick Downes in 41:09 and first lady was Pam Davies, who also scooped the over-60 prize in a time of 51:06. Other finishers were Rich Fain 42:38, Paul Phillips 46:20, Anne-Marie Mountford 52:51, Mac McCoig 55:06, Chris Barlow 60:24 and Joyce Edwards 63:15.
