TV presenter to give fundraising talk for Wildlife Trust

Award-winning TV presenter John Craven will be sharing his wildlife experiences at a special one-off fundraising show in September.

The star of such TV shows as BBC’s Countryfile will be sharing his tales and raising conservation cash for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust in An Audience with John Craven, at Staffordshire County Showground on Wednesday 24 September.

Alison Rhodes, commercial manager at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust said, “John is one of TV’s most recognisable faces, so to have him here in Staffordshire is wonderful. His wide ranging lifetime experience, and passion for the natural world will make this an exciting and memorable evening for the whole family. Guests will also get to meet John after the show.”

Craven rose to fame in the 1970’s as the face of kids news show Newsround. He also was involved in other shows including Swap Shop and Saturday Superstore, before launching Countryfile, a programme he has spent over 25 years presenting.

All proceeds from the show will go towards the Trust’s work, looking after wildlife on 26 nature reserves across the county, as well as organising hundreds of conservation projects and educational events.

Tickets for An Audience with John Craven start from £15 and can be booked by calling the Trust on 01889 880100 or emailing

VIP tickets for the event are also available for £50. Ticket holders will have an exclusive pre-show reception with John before enjoying front row seats for the show.
