Martin Blow from Plant Hunters’ Fairs told us
“If your garden is looking a little tired after the hot summer we’ve had then this is a great opportunity to find some late blooming plants to cheer it up. Autumn is also the perfect time to plant ready for next year’s bloom. The soil is still warm and plants have plenty of time to establish and make themselves at home before winter. The nurseryfolk will be more than happy to give you the benefit of their experience in planting and caring for the plants you buy so you can get the best from them”.
“you will find perennials, shrubs, trees, flowering fuchsias, alpine plants and bulbs, foliage plants, herbs and lots more at the fair”.
Sugnall Walled Garden holds a large collection of heritage apple and pear trees and visitors can have a taster before buying freshly picked fruit as well as chutney’s and jams made with fruits grown in the working vegetable garden. The tearoom also offers light refreshments showcasing the garden’s produce.
Entry for the plant fair and 2 acre walled garden is £1.00. The fair opens at 10am and closes at 4pm. There is ample free parking. The garden is just off the B5026 between Loggerheads and Eccleshall.
