Fresh from being Highly Commended in the ‘Best Local Building Society’ category of the prestigious What Mortgage Awards, Stafford Railway has expanded its mortgage team due to increased demand and business.
Laura Lawton, age 27 from Western Downs, joins the six-strong mortgage team as they celebrate yet another national accolade – The Society has won What Mortgage awards previously – in a scheme whereby entry alone is determined by the voting public.
Society Chief Executive, Susan Whiting, explains:
“To be recognised in the What Mortgage Awards like this is to receive an excellent seal of approval by those who use and benefit from your products. The nomination and voting process is comprehensive and provides a very healthy reflection of consumer opinion in the face of stiff competition.
“As a mutual, we remain fully committed to providing a simple and gimmick-free mortgage offer that intimately matches the needs and requirements of our customers, so national recognition for a local building society is something that all of Stafford and the surrounding area can be proud of. It also proves Laura is joining one of the best teams in the business.”
Laura brings eight years of customer-based sales experience in the mobile phone sector and joins as a mortgage processor, although the Society will be supporting her in attaining the CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualifications required to become a fully trained mortgage consultant
“I have first hand experience of how good the Society’s customer service is, having had a savings account with them for many years and also my own mortgage. So, even though this is a different area of work for me, it still involves talking to and helping people, which is something I love to do.
“I’m looking forward to working for a well-established and respected company that really makes a difference to its members. Stafford Railway Building Society has built its reputation on individual, personal service that goes the extra mile and it’s something the big High Street competitors just can’t match.”
