Following the monthly lunch held at the Upperhouse, Barlaston, on Monday, the 1st of September,the 40 members present were given an interesting talk by Simon Davies, NHS Trauma Co-ordinator in the Major Trauma Centre at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

In his talk he said the Stoke based Major Trauma Centre was one of the foremost Trauma Centres in the country, with all aspects of medical care on site and serving a large geographical are of 2.5 million people.

The Trauma Centre has its own Helicopter Pad adjacent to the hospital ensuring that patients receive treatment as quickly as possible on arrival. At the end of Simons excellent talk, the Club President presented him with a cheque for BLESMA ( British Limbless Ex Service Mens Association )
