A hugely successful auction event held by local Hospice supporters Barry & Pat Baggott raised an incredible £25,000 in aid of Katharine House Hospice. This amazing amount will help to launch a new Hospice appeal ‘Pay for a Day’
“Katharine House is such an important charity to us and one which we are totally committed to. I am honoured to help launch the new ‘Pay for a Day’ appeal and the money raised from our event will run the entire Hospice for 4 days which we are so pleased about”.
Sarah Hulson-Beech, Head of Fundraising said
“We cannot thank Barry and his family and friends enough for his hard work and dedication; it’s just an incredible amount which will make a huge difference to our patients and their families”.
What is Pay for a Day?
We all have a date in the calendar that means something special to us, a birthday, an anniversary or perhaps a day that had special meaning for someone who is no longer with us. Pay for a Day is a way that you can celebrate that symbolic date in the diary by covering the cost of 24 hours of care for all of the patients using hospice services on your special day.
Every single day the clinical team at Katharine House support up to 50 local people and their family and friends. This support through all of our clinical services costs £7,400 every single day and we rely on our community to help us to raise this amount, people like you.
You can pay for a day by donating the full amount, or through fundraising the amount over the time, you could fundraise through your company, your community group, by hosting an event or undertaking a challenge event. However you raise the money, you will know that it will make a difference to local people with a life limiting illness.
