Throughout the term St Dominic’s Priory School, Stone has been involved in raising money for various charities. Staff and pupils gathered together on Friday 10th October in order to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. A coffee afternoon was held which included a cake sale, homemade lemonade, tea and coffee. The ‘St Dominic’s Priory School Bake Off’ competition also took place which was hotly contested, with a great many fabulous creations from both Senior and Prep pupils
The afternoon was a huge success, with everyone paying £1 to enter. St Dominic’s Priory School managed to raise £170 on the door for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice ‘Bring a Pound Day.’ Volunteers from the hospice and Signal 1 radio arrived part way through the event on a big red bus, dressed as superheroes to collect the money. The final total for Macmillan Cancer Care was £305.30. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event.
