Juliet Kelly – ‘Celebrating the Divas of Jazz’

LIVE & LOCAL in Broughton Parish Room, Wetwood (on B5026 Eccleshall to Loggerheads road)Saturday, 29th November 2014, 7.30 pm

Singer and songwriter, Juliet Kelly, celebrates such iconic jazz singers as Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holliday in her distinctive glam-jazz style, including popular favourites and lesser-known gems, with piano accompaniment. She has been reviewed as ‘One of those rare singers that tells a genuine story with her music through her passionate performance and naturally warm voice – one of the UK’s finest singers in any genre’ (Time Magazine), and ‘Soulful and dignified – somewhat Cleo Laine-like’ (The Guardian). Should be a great evening.

The show is staged courtesy of the ‘Live & Local’ organisation, which helps groups in Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire to choose and promote high quality professional arts performances in their local community venues. It is also subsidised by the Arts Council England and Staffordshire County Council, and is in aid of Broughton Tennis Club.
