We have finally got BOTH Trout Lakes open this week with all the weeding done and all the fish stocked.  The Railway Pool has had a good stocking of 150 Rainbow Trout up to the magical 10lb mark, while the Swan Neck Pool has had a small bumper stocking mainly of bigger fish ranging from 4lb to 14lb.  The fishing has been good this week with most anglers catching plenty of fish.  The Island on the Swan Neck Pool has been the most productive place with Robert Kennerdy (Stafford) landing 17 fish up to 6lb all on a floating line and a Olive Leach.

Steve Jones and Time Jones also from Stafford landed 19 fish between them off the Island and down the bottom end where the fish have been holding under the trees. Sport will remain great now throughout the winter months with stockings going into both lakes on a regular basis.  Lures and larger flies will start to work better than the smaller flies as the weather cools down with Olive, Black and White/Green being the most productive colours, Nymphs and Buzzers will work on the warmer days with the odd fish still willing to come up and take a Large Daddy Long Legs off the surface.

Remember the gates will be opening from 8am from the 1st of November for the winter months.  All information can be found on the website www.seighfordlakes.co.uk or you can call the lodge on 01785 282967 for details and ticket prices.  Hopefully see you up here soon Tight Lines.
Coarse Fishing

Coarse Fishing has remained well this week with anglers catching plenty of fish over all three coarse lakes. Chris Corns from Stafford had a great mornings fishing on the Horse Shoe Pool this week, landing 12 Carp to 10lb using his trust worthy method feeder on peg 8. He took all his fish using Corn over Pellet on the small match pool.

The Horse Shoe Pool will be closed on Sunday 2nd November due to a club booking. This 14 peg match pool is perfect for the smaller clubs, with it still producing plenty of fish into the winter, there are plenty of Silver fish in there which will keep the bites coming even in the cooler months. Too book in call the fishery on 01785 282967.

There are spots for night fishing this coming Friday evening, but i am afraid the Saturday night the Old Pool is completely fully booked. The Maze has plenty of room on there for any anglers that want to take advantage of the £10 night fishing ticket. Too book in please call Jay on 07933512401
