The Lions were approached by the Stone Golf Club to see whether they could help them with their fundraising for a defibrillator to be located at the Club. Having spent some time arranging for a defibrillator to be provided in the High Street, the Lions felt that this was yet another opportunity for them to help in the local community, it had already been ascertained that the defibrillator would be housed in a position that would make it accessible to the general public.

The ladies section of the Stone Golf Club has been raising funds towards the cost, their latest being an “Afternoon Tea” which was held on Tuesday the 25th November to which the President of the Lions had been invited.

The President and a number of the Lions enjoyed the hospitality of the Golf Club and enjoyed an excellent selection of homemade cakes and a hot drink.

During the afternoon the President of the Golf Club Mr Phil Adams introduced the Lions and explained that they were there to present a cheque for £250 towards the cost of the defibrillator.

The afternoon teas raised the grand total of £356, so this with the Lion’s cheque of £250 and money already raised means that the target has almost been reached.

Congratulation to all the ladies who have been involved in this most worthy cause!
