The charity involved was the Little Heroes Foundation, that raises funds towards essential equipment and services for seriously ill children and their families, a cause that inspired Yarnfield folk to seek sponsors for a Fire Walk, held at their local pub.
Everyone taking part was looking to raise at least £100 of sponsorship money, with a target of £1,500 in total.
You can imagine their joy when the final sum on its way to Little Heroes turned out to be £2,800, which will go towards its vital work.
The Fire Walk was no mean feat for participants, walking through the heat of smouldering logs not once but five times!
Next day, we understand a ‘warm glow’ was experienced by a number of those brave fundraisers.
