Pupils at Christ Church Academy have been twinning their toilets! Recently they have raised£180 to help people in Africa build toilets and latrines. The children made Christmas craftsand baked cakes, which they sold at break time.

Mrs E Bell, who organised the event, said,

“The children understand how privileged we are to have good sanitation in this country andhow hard it is to keep diseases at bay when there isn’t even a toilet to use.’ The money raised recently has paid for toilets in Republic of Congo, Uganda and Sierra Leone. This is an ongoing project and previously the school raised money for three toilets and a school block in other countries, including Ethiopia and Bangladesh.”
