The Community Council of Staffordshire is under threat.
The Government has warned that it may cut funding to the ACRE Network (The network is made up of 38 community councils, which includes Staffordshire) across England and provides a wide range of advice, information and support to voluntary groups, liaising between statutory and voluntary sectors at all levels and across a wide range of issues.
From running community transport schemes and community bulk oil-buying groups, to assessing housing needs and supporting older people to stay in their homes, the ACRE Network makes a real difference to rural communities.
Without support from ACRE and the community councils, communities will be less resilient, services will be lost and more people will become lonely and isolated.
