Stafford Borough Council are running the ‘Geared Up’ sessions for 14 to 24 year olds which will take riders around the borough every Thursday night for six weeks – starting 26 February.
Qualified instructors will lead the bike rides and cyclists will also get a chance to learn handy bike maintenance, map reading and first aid skills during the sessions.
It costs £5 for all six weeks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes but they can be borrowed if required.
The rides will run from Beaconside Sports Centre on the town’s Weston Road at 5pm, except for the week six ride on Cannock Chase which will be starting from Marquis Drive at 5.30pm.
Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, Councillor Mike Smith, said;
“Cycling is a great way to get fit and active. These sessions will be an ideal chance for young people to get out on their bikes as we come out of winter.”
