Plenty of anglers have been coming through the gates to Seighford Lakes until this weeks freeze,  i’m pleased to see that most people have been leaving after catching a few fish too. Due to being busy over the past few weeks, we have had to bring our stocking forwards. A VERY BIG stocking has gone into both lakes this week, with some real monster fish up to 14lb. They have spread out and settled down all ready which is what i love to see. This is sure to keep the fishing at a top level which is what it has been over the past few weeks. Bags of 12 plus fish have been a regular occurrence now the weather is cooling down.

Some good bags of fish have come out over the past week, with everyone managing a couple of fish. Tony Sunderland (Cannock) is showing the way at the moment landing 28 fish over the past two days. All fish have been taken on Buzzers under a site indicator. Other methods that have been producing fish include Damsels pulled back on a floating line. The fish are loving chasing flies at the moment, Blobs and Leeches have also kept the pulls coming.

Fancy a go fly fishing this week? why bother going else where when the sport is as good as it is here!!

Some good Pike have also come out on the fly this week. Here is Rob Kammey who took this 12lb Pike out of the Swan Neck Pool on an Orange Fritz. There are Pike just like this on to over 20lb in both Trout lakes, there are also some in all of our coarse lakes. If Pike fishing is something you are interested in for this winter (Fly or Coarse), feel free to get in touch on 01785 282967.
Please don’t forget the gates now open at 8am.
